The end

After so many days of non update, probably its a good sign that lady luck was no longer on my side. Oh yeah, I lost all my winnings in one silly game during a highly suspected drunken state. So its the end for me now, or almost the end. I'm just left with 7.86 buck in my pot. Of course I could play to make it grow again but I realised that its no good for my health. I sent my blood level going up over a stupid ball that 22 men in the fields were so desperately trying to kick into the net.

Since there was a minimum sum for withdrawal which I was , I had decided to use this one last bit of moolah to buy the outright winner for the world cup. Saudi Arabia had the highest odds, at current point of this entry. 1:5001. Now, if they really won, I';m so going to merrily happy. But then, would I even buy them? Nop, I'm not that drunk yet. So how leh? I'm thinking of Ghana. Maybe I'm half drunk now. I rather be. I have enough people telling me that I'm going to waste that last bit of hope. I'm ok with it. Have faith. Black is going to be the summer color again. Its going to be. Have giant leap of faith.

Chatted with a friend last night, a friend I had known long time ago through some online forum. As always, I still enjoy making fun of him and he enjoyed retaliating it back, I think. Its fun anyway. Well, the first thing he did was to test my eye sight. He was typing white color font on white color background. See, isn't that a great way to start all those poking fun and testing each other sanity.

Sad to hear that he's back and he din gather us for a meal. Ok, not that its mandatory for him but well, would be nice. But its sadder to know that his mom just left the world. My condolences to him. My dad left me a couple of years back, quite suddenly actually. The term drop dead quite literally fit the scenario. That was also the time that I realised that one will probably only had one dad in one's lifetime. Once gone, forever gone.

On a light note, another friend got rom-ed. Someone whom we always used to call the diamond tiger wong (砖石王老虎). Congrats.

A night of losing

Oh yeah. Its a bad night alright last night. I lost 4 out of 5 tickets. How? Maybe lady luck had left me for someone else? The hottest favourite ain't scoring enough for me. I'm so totally sick with the frenchie and threw in my support to the swatch makers and yet I still got nothing from the two of them. The ball was just soooo round. My arse rounder, I think.

So what is going to be in for the night? The spaniard vs the ukrainian. I love the country. I love the food. I love the language. But for tonight, I think I rather prefer to support ukraine. Oh, and there's the star wars vs oil field. Followed by the German against the losing Poles.

No more tua ki hor lan. No more tua ki osaka. No more tua ki seoul.

Damn kimchi

나는 당신을 미워한다 !!!

First the Sushi upset my last night. Now the Kimchi was upsetting this very night. I was so happy for the next african team when they won the 1st half of the match. They won my 1st winning ticket for the night. But then they lost their defence and player and made me lost me 2nd ticket for the match. Sigh. I believe its Jean-Paul Abalo's red card that caused the team deeply. He was trying to save against a possible goal kick but too bad, it gave the Kimchi that equalizer free kick.

Oh, and thanks to the Pizza Inventor that I won another ticket. Thank you Pizza Inventor. The Pope will continue to bless you, I think.

Nevermind, what was over was over. Look at the next one! The Frenchie and the Swatch maker. Not to forget the hottest favourite's first match is going to be on tonight. How are they going to fare? How is my ante pot going to grow? Back to the tarot cards.

Konbanwaaaaaa

The Japanese. the DAMN DAMN DAMN Japanese. How could they had just let in 3 goals in the last 10 mins! I cannot believe it! They had been giving me hope! They were. I think they just screwed themselves of the chance for round two. I wonder if that constitute another record? Consider the 3 goals in just under 18 minutes for the 2006 world cup opening match.

For that moment, I really think that my little game on this world cup would had been fun, reaching more than 600% return on investment. And now the statistics had taken a big step behind. Dun look at the actual fund involvement. Like I say before, I'm just play it small small. Its the fun of doing the analysis and instincts and judgement.

Oh, bless the Mexicans. They did help me on my statistics. They did. Bless them. They were scoring pretty well against the Iranian. Maybe the Iranian had too much things on their mind now.

Hokkien got an old saying tua li ki hor lan (play you out to holland). And indeed it did when you place too much hope on Holland hor lan. Robben thinks that Rudd would be getting the golden shoe? Allo, wake up hor lan. So far, only the Germans had actually play it good based on their reputation. The rest of the big names were pretty much a huge disappointment. Maybe, just maybe. They might be able to win the cup this year at home ground.

The Portuguese ain't no making any pact either. Their big insult was probably losing the opening and ending match of Euro UEFA Cup 2004 to the Greek. However, they failed to qualify for the 2006 world cup, else who knows, another underdog on the way. I like underdogs, din I?

As I'm finishing this, the Czech had made its lead with 2 goals at half time. Bless them. Bless me.

The disappointing and the exiting

I think they fared terribly. For the first time since I started betting, I had bought the English to win. They did win. They did but they should not be proud at all. I think the Paraguay did well much better. If not for the own goal, the English might just have drawn their opening game.  Paraguay worked very hard but they just failed to secure the equalizer. I'm pretty sad for them though I think did win that bit of moolah. Its really bit. Gambling is very addictive and it can destroy lifes. I play that bit just for that little bit of kick when I'm watching the game.

Trinidad and Tobago secured what they wanted. They blardie drew the game. Damn. I had thrown in my bets on them to win! I think they could. I believe they can too. When Avery John was sent off within the first minutes, I was just losing that bit of hope. But I still believed in them. The Swedish fans wasereutterly disappointed. In fact, most people were expecting the Swedish to win. In fact they were attacking most of the time. However, maybe lady luck was just away on holidays now or she was sitting on the opponent camp. Trinidad and Tobago worked very hard to keep the Swedish at bay and they did. You can see the happy face on all the players. Their strategy was to draw and they were extremely defensive and it worked. I'm happy for them, but at the same time, I lost my bet. Damn again.

Let see those the Argentine gonna do against the Ivory Coast or if you prefer their new name Côte d'Ivoire. The match had started and I still haven't decide on who to bet on. I need some inspiration.

The Germans

Oh well, they won. Nothing much surprising there. Most people probably expected them to win. I wasn't. Or maybe I would rather prefer they lost. Nothing personal. I just like the odds given for Costa Rica to win. But I would say they did put in a good fight. A goal every 6 minutes for the first 18 minutes. I think its a record by itself for the world greatest and most watched game. Did I ever mention that I'm not even a soccer fans.

Nevermind, this match was over. Off to the next. More matches to get your heart beating faster.

Behaviour

Its always facinating to see different people reacting to different scenario that took place during different situation. I was at the Samsung service centre located at one of the mall in downtown. I'm there to make a redemption for a free gift. Why free? Cause bought a LCD TV for my mom. And no, its not mother's day present. That was a sewing machine. She requested for it, not my choice of gift though. But I'm a firm believer of buying gifts for people what they want, if my wallet does not object to violently to it. Anyway, that LCD TV already burn one hell of a big hole in my wallet. It did more than just violent objection. Its going on hunger strike now. Sighz. Its back to eating grass for the next few months.

Oh, back to the redemption. While I was there, something interesting took place. First there was a middle aged man was arguing with one of the service counter staff over the poor quality of service that Samsung was providing. He was there got over an hour and it still not his turn yet. Then the argument got louder and louder till the best english word start popping out. Now its not very uncommon, I'm sure in an arguing scene, especially when one loses his cool and manners. But things might start to turn very ugly when one starts bring out the father and mother. As a rule of thumb, you are scolding someone, always avoid involved anything maternal. Let's just be more civilized. Attacked the right thing. Insult is very different from scolding and arguing. Mixing them up just makes you look ugly and like a fool.

The staff that got the verbal abuse dun just stand there to be abuse. He did retaliate it back, in an angry yet polite way. He just told the guy off saying you have father mother, I have father mother, do not scold my father mother. That was nice of him to remind the abuser. The staff even offered to give his details to the guy who sworn he was so going to complain. How nice of the staff.

Right after that scene, the next scene is some cheena lady arguing that she ain't no interested in the free gift that she was entitled to. Hey, its the same free gift as mine! A home theatre system.
Well, its Samsung. Not those audiophile brands but still, better than nothing. Like the wise old man says no fish prawn also good. I say so too myself. The cheena lady insisted that she wanted something else. She wanted to change her free home theatre system to a camera. Her husband wanted a camera. Of course the same staff who got the abuse earlier on politely declined her request since its not in the company policy to do that. However, he could offer to give her a voucher valued at two hundred bucks if she dun intend to accept the home theatre system.

Guess what, she made even more noise. She complained louder than that they were cheating her ofher entitlement. How could they gave her a two hundreds bucks voucher for a home theatre system retailed at four hundreds and ninety-nine. She was insisting on a four hundreds and ninety-nine voucher. She started the complain before even if its my turn, and my turn is up and I left the place, she was still there yakking away. Oh, did I mention that I took five minutes to leave the place, strolling through some of the display products.

That poor staff. It must have been his bad bad day

Something about it

For one who loves to eat fish, seeing them swimming around in schools is a kind of experiences. Beside having them on your table for meal, keeping them alive in the great ocean is different experiences. Or if you think along the line where your lunch and dinner were swimming past you. That is still another experiences.

2 weeks ago during my liveonboard trip, I got to see dolphines. Not up close but we took the speedboat to get closer to the playful mamnmals whom were jumping out of the water. Lost count of the figure but its nice to see them swimming in the wild, though I dun exactly recalling seeing even them in captivity. Nop I have not been to Hong Kong. Hmm, do we have them in Sillypore Underwater World? I can't quite recall it. Nevermind, if I can't recall it, its not important enough, I guess.

Turtle was sighted on the same trip though its not the first time I have seen it. But its always nice to see them swimming under the water. Yet to see the eggs though. Might go look for them one of these trips. Nemo was simply too abundant down there in our Northern neighbour's water. And the recent trip that I went over the weekend that just past, a big lobster was sighted. Its probably more than 12" and the first thing I had in my mind, was that my fresh lobster salad calling out to me.
